Greg Jensen - President of Jenco

Greg started his career at Jenco as a toolmaker personally building high precision tooling. Greg then ran Jenco’s wire edm department for 8 years. These roles reinforced his methodical attention to detail. Greg began designing manufacturing equipment while in the wire edm department, and then became a full-time engineer. During his work on mechanical design Greg started Jenco’s in house controls department. This began simply with integrating relay logic controls into assembly fixtures to verify all items were correctly placed prior to assembly. Greg’s control experience grew with a diverse array of projects, many versions of industrial plcs. and a variety of programming methods. 

As Greg moved into a role that took him into customer facilities Greg applied his hands-on experience and background to creating new systems to solve customer’s manufacturing needs. This ranged from creating new systems, to correcting issues, to collaborating on and providing creative design input into customers new products. This diverse experience with many different customers in a wide variety of production environments gave Greg deep insight into the pitfalls that emerge from equipment and how they affect a manufacturing process over the long term. Greg takes the wide view considering all factors. This includes a thorough and meticulous review of the entire situation from the smallest note on the print to the overall layout of the manufacturing facility always looking to understand entire process and potential outcomes for the decisions that go into creating them. 

Greg’s approach to his work is to create systems that are is safety conscious, and robust. His interactions with customers have an emphasis on the long term.

Greg’s interests outside of work include Formula 1, Rally racing, Trap, Skeet, and Sporting Clays.
